Okay, so Jason and I are getting married soon. People have been kind enough to ask about where we're registered. The thing is that we're so middle-aged that our best suits are suits of armour; at this point in our lives, having too much stuff is more of a problem than not having enough stuff. When I tried to make a registry it looked like this:
a potato masher(we bought one today, sorry) a crockpot of some kind? (Marlise is giving us hers)
- I guess we could use an ironing board that doesn't squeak?
So, you know, not all that helpful. So if you're looking for practical gifts for us, the best bet is one of the following:
- Gift certificates to Life Maid Easy, because we have trouble cleaning up after ourselves. We've used them in the past and they're quite good but they sometimes struggle with accounting, so make sure you get a receipt.
- Gift certificates to Ikea (against the day when we move & upgrade some of our found-on-curb furniture), Mountain Equipment Co-op (because we keep meaning to go snowshoeing more), The Bay (always useful), or Strategies (because you can never have too many board games).
- Donations on our behalf!
And of course all of this is with the caveat that the best thing you can give us is your presence at our wedding--and that if you give us something specific to remember you by, we shall treasure it.
